Precision Metric and Imperial Conversion Engine
Navigating between the metric system (meters, kilograms, Celsius) and imperial measurements (feet, pounds, Fahrenheit) is a common hurdle in cooking, scientific research, international logistics, engineering, and travel.
Toolnova Unit Converter provides instant conversion across eight measurement dimensions. Powered by high-precision IEEE 754 floating-point conversion factors, you get reliable results without rounding artifacts.
An intuitive quick-swap button allows you to instantly flip source and target units, while a live conversion formula card explains the exact scientific ratio applied.

Frequently asked questions about Unit Converter
Common questions about usage, privacy, limits, and browser compatibility.
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Multiply the Celsius value by 9, divide by 5, then add 32. For instance, 25 degrees Celsius becomes 77 degrees Fahrenheit because 25 times 9 divided by 5 is 45, and 45 plus 32 is 77. Choose the Temperature category and the converter applies this formula for you.
How many centimeters are in an inch?
One inch equals exactly 2.54 centimeters, so 10 inches is 25.4 centimeters. The length category uses this factor for both directions, including decimal values. Swap the units to convert centimeters back to inches.
Does digital storage use 1,000 or 1,024 per kilobyte?
The converter uses binary units, where 1 KB equals 1,024 bytes and each larger unit is 1,024 times the one before. Some drive manufacturers use decimal units based on 1,000, which is why advertised capacity can differ from what an operating system reports. Check which standard a spec sheet uses before comparing figures.
Which measurement categories are supported?
The tool covers length, weight, temperature, area, volume, speed, time, and digital storage. Each category includes both metric and imperial units, so you can move between systems in one step. A swap button reverses the conversion direction instantly.
How do I convert kilograms to pounds?
One kilogram equals about 2.20462 pounds, so multiply the kilogram value by that factor. A 70 kg reading is roughly 154.3 pounds. Use the Weight category, and the converter shows the factor it applied below the result.
Are the conversion results rounded?
The converter calculates with high-precision conversion factors and then formats the answer to a readable number of significant figures. Inputs can include decimals, and the result updates as you type. For engineering or scientific work, keep the displayed precision in mind and round only at the final step.
